This sight word resource is great for any teacher using American Sign Language (ASL) in their classroom! ASL and written English each follow their own set of grammar rules. This sight word resource will help your students learn how to switch between a written English sentence and ASL sentence structure.
Each first-grade sight word has its own worksheet, with three opportunities to practice. The student will read each written English sentence and use the ASL visuals to sign the words. Then, the student will translate the written English sentence into ASL sentence structure using SVO (Subject Verb Object) and topic-comment structures.
This can be used with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students who use ASL and English. This resource would also be great in a regular education classroom setting as an enrichment activity, independent work, or center work!
